photo Laurynn

Laurynn's childhood was infused with music right from the start. After becoming a guitarist and saxophonist, she knew she needed to find some way to help others through the innate power she saw in music. She studied music therapy at Berklee College of Music, becoming a board certified music therapist in 2011. She has since worked in a variety of settings including special needs schools, child care, hospitals, senior care facilities and hospice.

Laurynn, holding an MA and teaching credential in Early Childhood Special Education from San Francisco State, enjoys reaching people with music from birth through end of life and her work is a gift to us all.

Lanie

Lanie grew up singing, dancing, playing the piano, clarinet, and oboe (and has since added ukulele to her bag of tricks). . . but above all, she loves singing and dancing! Lanie became a music teacher in 2017, shortly after her son was born and she became especially interested in childhood musical development and cultivating joy as a life-long habit through song and movement. She has over 10 years of experience as a teaching artist in classrooms and enrichment programs around the Bay Area, teaching performing arts, storytelling and puppetry arts.

For over a decade, Lanie has also been a children's party entertainer, performing at over 1000 parties in the Bay Area, and (of course!) leading children in song and movement at every opportunity. Also a life-long lover of theatre, Lanie has several professional puppetry, prop and costume design credits to her name with various theatre companies around the Bay Area, and always loves working with children's theatres.

photo Gina

Gina has been working with kids and their relationship with music and the arts for over 20 years. As an actress in Santa Monica she spent her free time reading to kids in inner city schools. After noticing that their music classes were cut, she began singing to them as well, and never forgot the effect that music had on their young absorbing minds. Years later, when Gina and her daughter took a music class, she thought to herself, "Why don't I teach here too?” The teachers took her under their wings and she’s been teaching on and off for the past ten years, always brought back by the joy she gets helping kids bring their music competence to a new level. She looks forward to sharing her love of music with other families.

Blair

Teacher Blair is a singer and musician. He plays guitar, ukulele, piano, and bass. Blair's interest in music was sparked through choirs. There’s nothing like singing with a diverse group of voices. He has studied both Opera and has a bachelor’s degree in Music from SFSU. He’s shared his love of music at summer camp as a counselor at Mountain Camp Woodside in Palo Alto. In addition, he has been a part of multiple resident bands around San Francisco. He looks forward to bringing the joy of music to you and your families!

photo Bernadette

As a young child, Bernadette held "pretend" band practice with a tennis racket as her "guitar" alongside her parents’ actual band practice! She thanks her dad for teaching her to play the actual guitar, and her mom for fostering her love of singing.

In high school and throughout her undergraduate years, Bernadette enjoyed choral singing and acting in musical theatre productions. She moved to San Francisco to further her study of theatre and acting, and taught drama and storytelling to children of all ages.

Through her teaching day jobs, Bernadette soon discovered her passion for working with young children. She decided to go back to school and received her Masters in Early Childhood Education from New York University.
